Magic Mantra For Instant Stress Relief

While there are many wonderful mantras in English and Sanskrit, it is helpful to have a simple all purpose phrase when life feels especially challenging.

At those times, the shorter the better. “It’s OK” seems to fit the bill, as long as you say it with love in your heart and aim some soothing calm towards the little child inside who needs to know things are alright, and you will protect her. These sublimely simply words will comfort the inner child as well as remind the adult part of you how capably you can take care of yourself.

With any mantra, repetition is the key ingredient. Imagine yourself calming a young child. What would you do? Would you put your arm around him? Would you speak in gentle tones? Would you keep saying the same phrase? Do all those with yourself, and repeat them until they appear automatically whenever you feel stressed.

“I’m OK” or “I’m fine” are other magic mantras, as they reinforce the notion that OK or fine is good enough. You are fine as you are right this minute (whatever is happening), and you are dealing with life as it is, even though you may wish it were different.

Allow these blissfully simple words to infuse you with peace, and the knowledge you have handled everything in your life, so far; and, you will rise to this challenge, too.
